Microsoft wanted to use their platforms to bring attention to the importance of music and arts education in schools. The Microsoft Music Box uses Xbox and Knect technology to introduce children of all ages to musical expression. Launched at the 2015 Grammys, the motion-based application turns the human body into a musical instrument by translating physical gestures into a sound all their own. The MusicBox and the cause that inspired it took off on social media, and has since become a permanent installation in Microsoft retail stores and Innovation Centers.
